| Rickenbacker has taken the benefit of its favorable
location and the plentiful land available and created a multi-modal
logistics and e-business fulfillment center featuring the international
airport, numerous industrial parks, an intermodal facility and a
Foreign-Trade Zone.
Four key business types have emerged -- E-commerce fulfillment,
international airfreight, freight forwarding and distribution --
to create billions of dollars in wages, taxes and earnings for the
region with over half of the area still available for development.
The Columbus Regional Airport Authority (CRAA) is actively developing
land in the area through the Rickenbacker Global
Logistics Park. This new industrial park provides four campuses
offering prime locations near the new intermodal facility.
CRAA also develops land in the Rickenbacker area through the Franklin
Community Improvement Corporation (FCIC). The FCIC provides development
of specialized facilities backed by joint ventures and private financing.
The FCIC's most significant project is Rickenbacker's Air Cargo
Terminal Complex, which serves as home to various freight forwarders
and others doing business at the airport.
