southeast sub-market, centered around Rickenbacker International
Airport, has been the dominant industrial development sub-market
in the Columbus MSA. This is largely due to private developers,
who have been a driving force in cultivating the industrial space
at Rickenbacker and are pursuing plans for additional growth. Currently,
about 38 million square feet of space has been built in the area,
of which 23 million square feet is located within the FTZ. In addition,
more than 9,000 acres of land suitable for industrial activity
is available for growth.
